First Entry

I have been an ardent observer in the blogging world. I have decided to throw my hat into the ring, and actually start my own blog.

My world the last two years has largely been focused on Faith Christian School. The students there have been become very special to me. Next week, however, on the 22nd, that chapter of my life will be closing. I am not planning on teaching next year.

Our plans were to move to Brevard, North Carolina this summer. We purchased a home there last summer and have been renting it out through a rental agency since then. But those plans have been put on hold. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on April 26. We would like to work through treatment before making such a major move. We have a lot of family support here that we won't have in North Carolina. I hoping that this blog will be a way to keep you updated concerning this journey we have been asked to make.

Dorcas, the journey you are now taking is familiar to many of us. Although the trips we have taken are in some instances very different in form, the paths pretty well lead to the same destination; a reality check.

I can now say since I have watched you and your family that your spiritual strength is a role model for us all. There is no lack of Christian love within your circle, and it's great to know that your walk includes the footprints of our Saviour. A better Partner one couldn't wish for!

Bill, you steadfastness and devotion to Dorcas is a joy to behold, and Maria...well, let's just say that you are joy to behold yourself and I know that you will do all you can to help your mom and dad. May you grow richly in Jesus during this time.

We are all there for you folks.

I think this is a wonderful idea. Even sisters need an electronic communication boost sometimes, and for now, I don't mind the rest of the world listening in. I didn't know, for example, that your moving plans were on hold, although I had gotten such hints. I also learned (in Sunday School class) that chemo was planned to go on for much longer before surgery than I realized.

I'm so glad that you're able to finish the school term. I spent a week after school finishing things up and I can't imagine leaving before school was over.

All the best, and all according to God's will and blessing.

Miriam

We continue to lift your needs to the Father.

Dorcas, I think it is neat that you have a blog. I will be praying for you family, especially on Wednesday as you begin your treatments. I pray that God's peace will surround you and that you can rest, knowing that your Father is in control! I am here for you, please call anytime. Love, Susie
